The Corruption at the Last Period of Dajjalism
As the Risale-i Nur gives importance to the protection of the new generation, the Dajjalism has based its insidious corruption on the corruption of the new generation through glamour and inoculation. Yes, Bediuzzaman says:
The Risale-i Nur will have students conformably with contemporary conditions and the nature of things, and foremost innocent children. For if a child is not taught the questions of belief thoroughly when small, in later years he can only assimilate the pillars of Islam and belief in his spirit with the greatest difficulty. Quite simply, it is as difficult as a non-Muslim accepting Islam, for its seems alien. It is even stranger for him if he observes that his parents are not religious and his mind is educated only with the secular sciences. The child is then contemptuous of his parents in this world and is a sort of tribulation for them, longing for them to die. And in the next world, he will be a plaintiff against them, rather than an intercessor, saying: "Why didn't you give me Islamic training and save my belief?"
In consequence, the most fortunate children are those who enter the fold of the Risale-i Nur, and serving and honouring their parents with good works, have merits written in their parents' records of good deeds and become intercessors for them according to their degree. (Emirdag Letters - 56)
Confirming this warning, Hz. Ustad declares in the Letters as follows:
...The fourth group are the children. They want kindness from nationalist patriotism; they await compassion. Also, in respect of their weakness, impotence, and powerlessness, their spirits may expand through knowing a compassionate and powerful Creator; their abilities may unfold in a happy manner. If instilled with the reliance on Allah that springs from belief and with the submission of Islam that may withstand the awesome fears and worldly situations of the future, these innocents may look eagerly to life. Will this be achieved by teaching them things about the progress of civilization, with which they have little connection, and the principles of lightless materialist philosophy, which destroys their morale and extinguishes their spirits? If man consisted only of an animal body and he had no mind in his head, perhaps these European principles which you fancifully call civilized education and national education could have afforded these innocent children some worldly benefit in the form of temporary childish amusement. Since they will be cast onto the surging tumult of life, and since they are human beings, they will certainly have far-reaching desires in their small hearts and large goals will be born in their little heads. Since the reality is thus, compassion requires that in the face of their infinite want and impotence an extremely powerful support and inexhaustible place of recourse are placed in their hearts, and these are belief in Allah and belief in the hereafter. This is kindness and compassion for them. It otherwise means slaughtering those wretched innocents with the drunkenness of nationalist patriotism, like a crazy mother slaughtering her child with a knife. It is a savage cruelty and wrong, like pulling out their brains and hearts and making them eat them to nourish their bodies. (The Letters - 484)
Again, even the following statements, which warn of the destruction of Dajjalism, are worthy of attention:
THIRD MATTER
There is a narration: "The despotic rulers of the end of time, especially the Antichrist (Dajjal), will have false paradises and hells." {Muslim, Fitan, 104, 109; Ibn Maja, Fitan, 33; Musnad, v, 397.} The knowledge is with Allah, an interpretation is this: it is an indication that of the prison and high school which are situated opposite the government offices and are facing each other, one will become an ugly imitation of a huri and youth of Paradise, and the other become a dungeon and torture-chamber. (The Rays - 104)
FIFTH MATTER
There is a narration: "At the end of time, certain persons such as the Antichrist (Dajjal) will claim godhead and force others to prostrate before them." {al-Hakim, al-Mustadrak, iv, 508; Ibn Kathir, Nihayat al-Bidaya wa'l-Nihaya, i, 125-6; Musnad, iv, 20; v, 372.} Allah knows best, an interpretation is this: just as a nomad chieftain who denies the king imagines in himself and in other chieftains a small rulership proportionate to their power; so those who come to lead the school of Naturalists and Materialists, imagine in themselves a sort of lordship proportionate to their power, and to demonstrate their power, make their subjects bow down worshipfully before themselves and their statues, and incline their heads. (The Rays - 104)
SIXTH MATTER
There is a narration: "The dissension of the end of time will be so terrible that no one will be able to restrain themselves." {Suyuti, al-Fath al-Kabir, i, 315; ii, 185; iii, 9; al-Hawi li'l-Fatawa, ii, 217; Abu 'Abdullah Daylami, Musnad al-Firdaws, i, 266.} It is because of this that for one thousand three hundred years, on the command of the Prophet (SAW), all the Umma has sought refuge with Allah from that dissension -"from the dissension of the Antichrist and from the dissension of the end of time"- after seeking refuge from the torments of the grave. {Bukhari, Da'wat, 37, 39, 44, 45, 46; Adhan, 149; Jana'iz, 88; Fitan, 26; Muslim, Masajid, 127-8, 130-4; Musnad, vi, 139.}
Allah knows what is best, it may be interpreted like this: the dissension of the end of time will draw souls to itself, captivating them. People will join it voluntarily, indeed, eagerly. For example, in Russia, men and women bathe naked together in the public baths. And because by nature women have a strong propensity to show off their beauty, they willingly throw themselves into that dissension and are led astray. The men too, being naturally enamoured of beauty, are defeated by their instinctual souls, and with drunken joy, fall into the fire and are burnt. Holding a fascination, the amusements, grievous sins, and innovations of the times such as dancing and the theatre, draw the pleasure-seekers around them like moths, intoxicating them. But if this occurs through absolute compulsion, the will is negated and it is not even a sin. (The Rays - 105)
